Google Launches Video Feature in Gemini App with Veo 3 Model Integration
Google has rolled out a new video feature in Gemini, its AI-powered app that now turns static images into short video clips. This upgrade uses the advanced Veo 3 model and is no longer exclusive to AI Ultra users. For the first time, AI Pro subscribers—paying $20 per month—can also use this creative tool.
Veo 3 Now Available to More Users
The Veo 3 model was only available to AI Ultra subscribers until now. AI Pro users can now make 720p videos that are eight seconds long with this update. These clips have audio and motion that are in sync with each other. For a lower price, the update gives more people more creative options.
Limitations in Format for Social Media Creators
The tool makes videos in a fixed landscape format of 16:9. This ratio works well for traditional screens, but not for vertical-first sites like TikTok or Instagram Reels. For instance, TikTok’s AI Alive works better with short vertical content. This gives Google a small edge over creators who are more focused on social media.
How to Use the Video Feature in Gemini
To create a video, users need to open the Gemini app and go to the “tools” menu. After selecting “video,” they can upload a static image. Gemini will then generate an animated clip in seconds. The process is quick and easy, making it useful for marketers, content creators, and casual users.
Also Integrated with Google’s Flow
Google has also added this image-to-video tool to Flow, its AI filmmaking app. Flow now supports this feature in 75 more countries. This global expansion gives creators worldwide access to AI-driven video generation tools.
Rollout Details and Subscription Plans
This feature is only available on desktops right now. By the end of the week, Google plans to make mobile access available. AI Pro costs $20 a month, but AI Ultra costs $250 a month and has more advanced features for professional use.
Google Strengthens Its AI Media Tools
With this release, Google gets more involved in making media with AI. The Gemini video feature makes it easy for more people to make high-quality content. It shows that Google is putting more and more emphasis on creative tools that use AI in new ways and are easy to use.
