Pakistanis Lead Multinational Effort to Create Largest Handprint UAE Flag
In a remarkable cultural celebration, the Pakistani community in Dubai set a Guinness World Record by creating the world’s largest Handprint UAE Flag. This vibrant artwork, featuring 24,514 human handprints, was unveiled on May 22 at the Pakistan Association Dubai (PAD) auditorium.
More than 100 nationalities took part in this historic effort. Among them were Indians, Bangladeshis, Filipinos, Arabs, and others living in the UAE. Their participation reflected the country’s inclusive spirit and demonstrated shared values that unite people across cultures.
A Symbol of Unity and Creative Diplomacy
The Pakistan Association Dubai and Emirates Loves Pakistan launched the project with artist Rabab Zahra leading the creative process. The campaign began on April 13 during Pakistan Health Week in Al Quoz. Over the course of a month, volunteers steadily added their handprints, turning the idea into a bold visual statement.
Guinness World Records formally recognized the Handprint UAE Flag in a special ceremony. Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UAE, Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, and Consul General Hussain Muhammad attended the event. Ambassador Tirmizi praised the flag, calling the handprints “prints of the heart.” He said the artwork represents the deep bond between the Pakistani and Emirati communities.
A Community Achievement in Line with UAE’s Vision
Guinness judge Mbali Nkosi congratulated everyone involved. She described the project as “an incredible feat” by the PAD team, Emirates Loves Pakistan, and Rabab Zahra.
PAD President Dr. Faisal Ikram also spoke at the event. He thanked the participants and highlighted how the initiative supports the UAE’s theme for the year—“Year of Community 2025.” He emphasized that the flag reflects the UAE’s vision of unity, creativity, and collective pride.
Ultimately, the Handprint UAE Flag is more than just a world record. It stands as a powerful symbol of friendship, inclusion, and cooperation. Through this project, the community showed how art and collaboration can create lasting impact and inspire future generations.
