Trump Deals: Qatar Airways will purchase up to 210 aircraft from Boeing. The deal, valued at $96 billion, was announced by U.S. President Donald Trump during his Middle East tour. He called it a key milestone in economic ties between the two countries.
The agreement is Boeing’s largest-ever jet order. It includes 130 Dreamliners, 30 777-9s, and options for 50 more planes. According to the White House, the deal will support around 154,000 U.S. jobs annually during production. It provides a critical boost to the American manufacturing sector.
Qatar Airways Boosts Boeing Recovery as Trump Secures Second Major Aircraft Deal
This marks the second Boeing deal revealed during Trump’s trip. It highlights Boeing’s effort to regain momentum after recent struggles. The company suffered a $10 billion loss in 2023 due to safety issues and a January 2024 panel failure that slowed production. A seven-week workers’ strike further disrupted its operations.

Despite setbacks, Boeing is bouncing back. In early 2025, it delivered 130 planes—more than expected. That success lifted its stock by nearly 20% since January. CEO Kelly Ortberg said the company’s recovery plan is “in full swing.” However, Boeing still has a backlog of 5,600 aircraft—more than seven years of production.
The Trump Deals: Qatar Airways deal is part of wider economic agreements between the U.S. and Qatar worth over $240 billion. It also deepens a long-standing partnership. Qatar Airways already operates over 150 Boeing jets and had more than 130 on order before this agreement.
Aviation analysts see the deal’s timing as “politically strategic.” But they warn it may not signal a spike in immediate demand. “It’s a symbolic win for Boeing, but production challenges remain,” said Richard Aboulafia of Aerodynamic Advisory.
Boeing also announced other wins during Trump’s tour. Saudi Arabia’s Avilease committed to buy 20 737 MAX planes, with options for 10 more. British Airways parent IAG ordered 32 787-10 jets in a $13 billion deal set for delivery in 2028.
